Arcanine

I grew up playing the original Pokemon games, and I used to have an Arcanine named "Blitzer" on my old team. I simply loved him, and that was the time when Arcanine started becoming one of my favorite Pokemon.

The vision on this piece is pretty good, I like it. I love the realistic approach on here as well, you played that one off amazingly. You made Arcanine look like a mixture of a feline and a canine here perfectly, it's very rare to come across realistic Arcanine artwork with this done so well. I have always seen this Fire-type as a tiger/wolf hybrid.

I absolutely adore the way you drew the fur, especially on his chest, brisket, cheeks and neck. You really made him look so fluffy and cuddly! The only part I'm not too fond of is the tail, it looks kinda rushed and the fur looks really flat and sorta greasy. If you do plan to remake this piece, you can perhaps draw the tail to look more fuller and fluffier like the original Arcanine. Maybe you can reference off a wolf's tail next time?

Another thing that I really love about this piece is the crisp and beautiful colour palette you chose. You seriously nailed Arcanine's colours in this picture! And the patterns don't look flat or lazily drawn, either. They look as though they are really molded onto the fur! And those paws, you drew them really well, too. It's hard for me to draw paws that good. Speaking of which, the anatomy is spot-on, as well!

A few last things I want to say about this drawing is how proud Arcanine looks in this. It looks as though he won a battle, or just wants to show off his handsome and fluffy looks to the female Pokemon XD. His face and body movements have a lot of emotion to them, which is a rare thing to see in most art now. And the fiery effects around his neck and atop of his head look super cool and have a nice, soft glow to them.

The reason why the originality is low is because I've seen plenty of Arcanine and Pokemon artwork before, but please don't take this so negatively. Your Arcanine art is some of the best I've seen!
